Wrap It Up: Plastic Wrap Suspensions 101

Providing sensory deprivation, bodily restriction, and stretchy, gooey uplines, plastic wrap is an unusual but surprisingly accessible suspension medium. In this class we will learn about and practice the techniques of plastic wrap suspension, from preparing hard points and wrapping bodies, to placing uplines and descending safely.

Materials are provided (a materials fee is included in ticket pricing).

Class Prerequisites:

  • Tops should bring curiosity, humility in the face of gravity, and a willingness to work through the frustrations that often accompany learning a new medium

  • Bottoms should have good bodily awareness and be able to communicate their needs with regards to nerve sensitivity, body positionality, temperature regulation, and the psychological impacts of constriction, sensory deprivation, and potentially sudden transitions.

Students should bring:

  • Safety shears/appropriate cutting tool.

  • Bottoms should wear an outfit appropriate for plastic wrap suspensions--avoid loose/flowy clothing and anything that is insulating as you will be getting warm. You may wish to bring a change of clothes for after as sweat is inevitable.

  • A blanket or towel for post-suspension warmth and comfort.

  • If you already have plastic wrap suitable for suspension you may bring it, but instructors will check in before you suspend with it.

  • Students comfortable with rope suspensions may wish to bring a few hanks to use for supplemental support though this is not necessary.

  • Water/snacks/fidgets/body and mind supports.

Cost

  • $25-55 per audit ticket

  • $60-$120 + $28 materials fee per typing pair, which includes one hardpoint and all the materials you will need for this class.

If you are bringing your own supplies, please reach out to the instructor for a discount code.

No one turned away for lack of funds. We always have at least one scholarship spot available for each class.

Instructor Bios:

Adrian (they/them) is mischievous gnome-sized human who believes play is an essential part of life and being bad at something is key to becoming good at it. They got into kink out of a desire to explore their relationship to sensation and stayed for the relationships with other humans. They have been making progressively weirder choices the older they get, and hope to never stop. Adrian has been exploring plastic wrap since 2018 and loves learning from every suspension they do.

Xani (it/he) is a playful creature that can’t help but wriggle and writhe through a scene. It uses rope and other kink as a conduit to connection, creating trust and a safe place for vulnerability. Kink has been an invaluable bridge to finding community, and it strives to radiate a safe space for others.
